Have Faith

By Rachael Renee

Our topic today is faith. We will talk about what it is and how to strengthen it. He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you”(Matthew 17:20). This verse tells us the power of having even a little bit of faith.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, one of the many definitions of faith is “belief and trust in and loyalty to God.” Having faith in God can be you knowing that when hard times come He will get you through them. An example of someone having great faith in the Bible is Gideon. God chose Gideon to lead the Israelites He sent an angel to Gideon and they talked. The angel told him that he’d be the Israelite champion. After God showed Himself to Gideon he gathered an army and his faith was tested when God reduced his army. He was wrestling with his faith but still followed God’s instructions. God tested his faith numerous times but Gideon stayed strong. Ultimately, God led Gideon to victory after his faith was tested.

What we can learn from Gideon is to trust God even when things get hard. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). Our faith needs to be strengthened because we should strive to please God, and without faith, we can’t do that. Praying can help build your faith and get you closer to God. Having a great relationship with Him and knowing His will overall will improve your faith.

In conclusion, when things get hard draw closer to God to strengthen your faith and get you through it. Having faith isn’t easy but nothing in life really is. Strive to please God and know His will for your life so that you can ultimately fulfill the purpose He has for you.

👏🏾 Yesss girl!! Faith is a MUST! Sometimes we do become weakened in our faith, but it is primary that we be strengthened! Without faith, we just stand before God void! How can we be filled or strengthened lest we 1st believe then ask!
